Launching of the Strażak-28 firefighting boat

At Remontowa Shipbuilding, on 30 June 2022, in the presence of the shipyard’s and shipowner’s representatives, the vessel Strażak-28, under construction for the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority, was launched.

She is a modern vessel, 29.2 m long, 10.47 m wide, equipped with two powerful FiFi pumps of 2,700 m3/h each, with a bollard pull of 45 t. These parameters distinguish the newly built fighting vessel from those currently stationed in Szczecin and Świnoujście: Strażak-24 and Strażak-26.

Among other tasks, the ship is designed to perform fire protection tasks in cargo handling, in the transport of hazardous materials by tankers carrying flammable gases and liquids, requiring the assistance of a fire fighting unit, and for rescue and port safety tasks. In addition to her firefighting function, the vessel will also perform towing functions and she will be assigned ice-class L2.
