The Strażak-28 (B-861-1), a firefighting vessel built at the Remontowa Shipbuilding SA shipyard for the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority SA, has begun sea trials. The tests, which will last several days, will be followed by preparations for the handover of the vessel to the Ordering Party.
The vessel has already completed assembly work and harbour trials, i.e. tests of all equipment and systems on board the vessel in harbour conditions. Now it’s time to see how the new vessel will perform at sea.
During the sea trials, the equipment will be checked under normal operating conditions, and all the assumed parameters of the unit, speed, and pulling power will be verified. The manoeuvring tests will be carried out, the operation of the fire extinguishing system, which is the primary function of the vessel under construction, the launching of a floating oil barrier and all systems responsible for the safety and safe operation of the vessel in operation.
Sea trials are expected to last five days. The signing of the acceptance protocol, or official handover of the Strażak-28, is scheduled for November 18.
