The ninth ferry for Torghatten Nord is under construction!

At Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A., the construction of a hybrid passenger-car ferry ordered by Norwegian shipowner Torghatten Nord AS began on 8 May 2024 with the first steel cutting.

Stein Andre Herigstad-Olsen, head of business development at Nordic Ferry Infrastructure, attended the ceremony, as well as representatives from Torghatten Nord AS, including CEO Marius Hansen, CFO Trygve Tofte, and construction manager Tore Heidegård.

– From 2010 to 2013, we built eight modern ferries for this shipowner. The relaunch of our cooperation confirms the positive experience and satisfaction with the delivered ferries. Today, we start a new chapter of our partnership,” said Dariusz Jaguszewski, CEO of Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A.

– In addition to experience, we also chose Remontowa Shipbuilding because it provides the best quality service and, not insignificantly, the best price for us,” said Marius Hansen, CEO of Thorghatten Nord AS.

The modern, fully equipped, battery-driven electric double-ended ferry is designed for the Stornes-Bjørnerå service in the Arctic Circle area. Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
