Today’s steel cutting ceremony, held at Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A., officially marked the start of the contract execution.
B622 will be a modern double-ended hybrid-powered ferry designed to operate on the Dønna–Herøy route in Norway. The vessel will be capable of carrying 249 passengers, 85 passenger cars and up to 6 trucks. Due to its intended area of operation, particular emphasis has been placed on minimizing energy consumption and reducing CO₂ emissions. The design also provides for a future expansion of the energy storage system, enabling the vessel to operate in fully electric mode.
The contract for the construction of the ferry was signed on 16 January 2026. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.
The project continues the long-standing cooperation between Remontowa Shipbuilding and the Torghatten Group, which dates back to 2011.
In March this year, we delivered the ferry Bjarkøy to Torghatten Nord AS.
