About project

A series of seven double ended ferries – six of Design A (150 passengers and 24 cars) and one of Design B (250 passengers and 16 cars) – intended for serving nine connections on the West Coast of Scotland. Each ferry is equipped with four azimuth thrusters, two back-up generating sets, a decentralised electric grid with two DC switchboards and large batteries located in two battery rooms. Thanks to this they are highly manoeuvrable, highly redundant and, therefore, reliable, and capable of efficient zero emission operation with overnight battery charging.
